First, to finish the "What's in a Name" Challenge, I need to read one book with "lost," "found" or something related in the title. I need to read one 18th or pre-18th century classic and one classic adventure for the "Back to the Classics" challenge. I still need to read two pre-1960 mysteries and six works of historical fiction.
The two challenges that I need to really get to work on are my TBR pile challenge and the "Help from My Friends" challenge. Since these require specific books, they are proving to be more, well, challenging. For the TBR challenge, these remain:
-The President and the Assassin:Terror and Empire at the Dawn of the American Century by Scott Miller
- Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
-
- Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
- Decision Points by George W. Bush
- Redwall by Brain Jacques
Alternates:
1. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
2. Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome
3. The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli
For the "Friends" challenge:
4. Tam Lin by Pamela Dean
7. The Princess Bride by William Goldman
8. Middlemarch by George Eliot
Alternates:
--Catch 22 by Joseph Heller
--The Passing of the Armies by Joshua Chamberlain
--Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
--Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome
Guess I need to get busy.
