Back to the classics

This challenge is appealing. It doesn't just require a set number of classics, it requires variety in the choices, supporting my goal of broadening my reading.

The Required Categories:
  1. A 19th Century Classic--The Warden by Anthony Trollope (1/28/2013)
  2. A 20th Century Classic-- My Antonia by Willa Cather (1/15/2013)
  3. A Pre-18th or 18th Century Classic-Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe (9/9/2013)
  4. A Classic that relates to the African-American Experience - This can be an African-American author, or a book relating to slavery, civil rights, or African-American culture.Up From Slavery by Booker T. Washington (4/8/2013)
  5. A Classic Adventure--The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle (11/27/2013)
  6. A Classic that prominently features an Animal - This can feature animal characters or animals in the title (real or imagined)--Travels with Charley by John Steinbeck (1/12/2013)
Optional Categories:
    A.  Re-read a Classic--Brave New World by Aldous Huxley (3/5/2013)
   B.  A Russian Classic-- The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov (2/5/2013)
   C.  A Classic Non-Fiction title-- In Cold Blood by Truman Capote (1/6/2013)
   D.  A Classic Children's/Young Adult title--Emily of New Moon by L.M. Montgomery(1/6/2013)
   E.  Classic Short Stories - collection must include at least 3 short stories by the same author, or at 
                                              least 3 stories collected together by genre, time period, etc.
